Ladybug Celebration Candy!!!

Good evening, my lovely friend Lisa @ Mess 2 Magic is celebrating her four DT places and nearly reaching 150 followers and is sharing some lovely candy, so well done Lisa, you deserve it hunny! There is a twist though, you have to make a project using 'Ladybugs' as the theme, ie. colours, images or just get inspired by the photo below. Then leave a link to your blog to qualify.

My project is a 'Side Stepper Card', something I have never attempted before and are a lot easier than they look, lol! I have gone a little 'dotty' with the colours, but I really loved making this! I have used a little image from 'Rachelle Anne Miller', called 'Giving Shelter', which has been sitting in my stamp drawer for far too long. Lots of red & black Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug paper, Ribbon from QVC, my favourite SU Flower stamp, Papermania buttons and Craftwork Cards 'sentiment'. Red Kaisercraft pearls and the ink pads used were Momento - Black and Versamagic - White. Coloured in with Promarkers.

Do join in Lisa's candy hop, hope you have had a lovely Bank Holiday Sunday, the weather here has been pants again today, typically bad! I am off to make some more of these side-steppers, they are quite addictive!

Off out for the day tommorrow, weather hopefully will be better, lol! Going to buy Jess a computer for her birthday next month, so have lots of shops to visit to get the best bargain!

love & hugs

Crafty Emma's Store Challenge # 1 - 'Anything Goes!'

Good afternoon, hope it is sunny and warm wherever you are, it is her today! At last I can hang the washing out and get some gardening done, lol!

There is a fabulous new challenge blog opening it's doors today, it has been started by the lovely Emma over at Crafty Emma's Shop Challenge Blog who has a wonderful on-line shop, which you can pop on over Here .

Her first challenge has the theme of 'Anything Goes' and there is a gorgeous 'My Mind's Eye' pack of scrummy papers as the prize.

Whilst rummaging through my stamp draws today, I found my large stock of 'Sarah Kay' images, I forgot that I had them, lol! Anyway, this little one, which I think is called 'Elodie' jumped right out at me, so I just had to use her. I found some scrap card in beautiful Autumnal colours. I wasn't too sure about the pink, but the 'Bo Bunny' papers that I have used, do have this tone of pink on them, so I think it goes really well together. Have punched out a MS Lace Doily border using the Pink Bazzing. Have coloured her in with Promarkers, have given some Cosmic Shimmer to the watering can, punched out some MS Hydrangea flowers, added some gold card candy and once stuck all together, I think she has turned out rather well, lol!

Do pop on over to see the Design Team's creations, they are just beautiful!

Am off to cook tea and check out this evening's telly!

Have a good one!

Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday # 64

Good morning, am up early crafting again, does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night, with lots of ideas and has to play? Probably just me, I do have some weird and wonderful dreams, lol! Anyway, I thought I would get organised and do my What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! Us mad WOYWW's share our desks/creations/recent purchases each week, a cult started off by the lovely Julia @ Stamping - Ground . If you haven't already joined it, then do so this week!

I am so sorry if I didn't manage to get round to you last week, I do apologise. My computer seemed to have a meltdown. I will endeavour to visit all blogs this week.

On my desk this morning, well as you can see, its a bit of a dumping zone again! My lovely puss, knocked over a glass of juice which ruined some samples that I had finished, so everything had to be moved. Anyway, I have forgiven her as soon after she came and gave me a big cuddle to say sorry, lol!

To start with some canvases that I am working with for a DT project, Bo Bunny papers, QK dies, Distressed Inks, Kohr-I-Noor pencils that I have found again, Doodlebug stone sets in various colours, new stamps and embellishments and my usual suspects, scissors, tape, etc.

Here is a lovely wooden cat that I recently found in a small craft shop, just love it!

Here are my recent purchases, SU 'Bird on a Branch' set & some felt flowers & leaves, they are so lovely, I should have brought two sets so I wouldn't have to use them, lol! Is it just me who does this extravagant thing with papers & embellishments? I am sure I am not the only one that duplicates everything, or am I, lol????

Am off out today with my girls, Amy is off today, so its not often the four of us get to go shopping, can't wait! Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Have to go attack my ironing mountain, I have been putting it off for a few days, have been out and about with the girls shopping today. Enjoy your evening! I will be back tommorrow with my WOYWW, see you then,

Little Claire's New Christmas Stamps

Good afternoon, am up to my eyes in paint yet again, we are decorating the girls bedroom this time. I am covered in pale pink paint from head to toe, lol! I have taken a coffee break and wanted to share some samples I have made up using the fabulous new Christmas stamps from Little Claire's . Aren't they gorgeous??? The stamps are not only fantastic value, but are some of the best I have ever stamped up. The images are all so very clear. All of my cards have been made using lots of my scraps. I have a rather large box full of paper and card scraps and I really loath throwing it away, so its been great using it up!

'Deck The Horns' - Easel Card

I really chuckled when I first saw this little image, he has such a sweet cheeky face! I love comical stamps! I have used some pale green & pink Bazzill cardstock, K & Company Papers, QK Oval and Circle Dies, Fiskars Scalloped Edge Punch, Stampendous little sentiment, buttons and card that I have twirled from my scrap box. I have coloured in the image using Promarker pens and have smoothered with Cosmic Shimmer.

'Star of Wonder' - Fold Card

This card opens up from the right and lets the image really stand out! I have used Navy Bazzill Cardstock, Pebbles Christmas Paper, MS Snowflake Punch, Doodlebug Star Button, Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Cosmic Shimmer & Promarker Pens.

'Christmas Pals' Card

This litte image is definately my favourite of the bunch, the snowman and the dog have such adorable faces. These little stamps are truly a pleasure to use! Large White Card, Turquoise Bazzill Cardstock, Bo Bunny 'Tis the Season' Papers, Scallop & Circle Punches, QK Corner Die, MS Snowflake and Kaisercraft Pearls and Promarker Pens.

All of the new Christmas stamps from Little Claire will be available very soon from their website. They also have some wonderful new peel-offs, MS punches, flowers and gorgeous papers, postage is only £1, so please do go check them out!

Back to the painting and I have to cook tea as well, lucky me! I may cheat and get take out tonight and why not, lol!!

Enjoy your evening,

This week, we are being sponsored by :

The lovely Gill from Foilplay is giving away a £10 voucher to spend over there.

My Card Recipe:

Penny Black Image - 'The Manger' (not used bargain stamp)
Green Bazzill Cardstock
My Mind's Eye 'Colourful Christmas' Papers
MS Zig Zag Embossed Punch
MS Snowflake Punch
SU Scallop & Oval Punches
Penny Black 'Peace' Sentiment
Doodlebug Cream Stones
Coloured image using Promarker Pens

You have until next Wednesday 11th August 2010 @ 8pm, to enter our challenge and us DT girlies, will pop on over to see your Christmas creations.

I had to take Georgia to get her eyes tested today and she needs glasses! I have never seen a ten year old so excited! It took nearly half an hour to try on about twenty different frames, until she choose hers. When I was her age, I got glasses too. My frames weren't as glamourous as her's, they were NHS Specs, torteshell, em they were lovely, not! I was teased badly as not many girls in my class wore them, lol! Thank goodness most of Georgia's friends wear them, so she will fit in well lol! She did want a pair of Red or Dead ones, they would have set me back nearly £100, thank god I talked her round, lol!

Am off to cook tea, need feeding up, as we are having a marathon uniform-buying session tommorrow, am not having too much luck getting trousers to fit, as Georgia's legs are so long! Fingers crossed we will find some or she will be wearing her jeans to school next term! We have lots left to buy, shoes, trainers etc., etc., the list goes on and on.......

Have a lovely evening, whatever you do!

hugs

Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday???

Hello WOYWW'ers! If you haven't become one yet, pop on over to Julia's Blog and join in the fun. All you have to do is, show us what you have on your workdesks and any projects that may be in progress.

My desk is very different this week. My girls and I have been busy sewing felt things. Jessie has made a butterfly and heart keyrings. Georgia, a flower and a heart. I have started an owl, but I havent managed to complete one yet, as Georgia needs lots of help, lol! We found some old templates and I am doing mine free-hand after being inspired by my little owl keyrings. Anyway, it is keeping them very quiet and they are really enjoying themselves.

I took a trip to The Range this week, I was extremely good. I need to top up on essentials, tape etc., but I wanted to find something special to go on my newly painted craft room wall. As soon as I saw this beautiful butterfly, I know it had to come home with me, hope you like it! It is stunning against the cream wall.

Unfortunatly, our little guinea pig Carrie is poorly again. So he is living on my Workdesk again. He has lost a tooth and we think that is why he had an infection before. The vet is very optimistic that he just has another infection in his gum, so he will be staying in our cat box until his anti-biotics have kicked in. Anyway, here he is, rather camera shy, lol!

Have a wonderful day! The weather looks pretty pants here today. I expect it will be another stay-in and sew day for us. Thanks for dropping by, I will be over to see your workdesks later.

hugs
