Hi im Heidi. Am married to David, Mum to Amy, Jessie and Georgia. I am a stay-at-home Mum who loves to craft and leave the housework, lol! We have a houseful of pets.
I am happy for anyone to take inspiration from my ideas but please do not copy any of my designs for inclusion in magazines, competitions etc. Thanks x
The lovely Crafting Amy has given me this super award. I love this lady and her little pooch, wish I had her figure lol! Nevermind, once I get on my Wii Fit, there will be no stopping me!
The rules of the award are as follows, you must list five addictions and five fave bloggers. I have gone with my fav five craft addictions. It was very hard to choose just five as, I love so many things. Anyway, here goes :
1) Papers - I love any sort of papers, Cosmo Cricket, Imaginese, My Mind's Eye etc. 2) Stamps - am totally in love with Elzybells, Sugar Nellie, Hero Arts and Tilda's. 3) Flowers - have boxes of them. Have just added to my stash with some Prima ones. 4) Buttons - any shape, colour or size - must have them all! 5) Watercolour Pencils - love using them, love the effects they give.
My fav bloggers, there are so many and it was so hard to choose just five. I have had a quick peek at all of the blogs I visit to see if they have received this award. If I have given it to you again, soz, but please pass it on to someone you know who hasn't received it yet, many thanks xxx
1) The Twin's Mum - My dear cousin Maree in Oz, has recently started her blog and am loving what she has produced so far, hurry up with those challenge cards hun! 2) Taffy's Crafty Creations - just love all of her cards and her fun blog. 3) Cards By Kim - I just go WOW and get very inspired at all of her beautiful creations. 4) Art with a Heart - A super blog I have recently found, love her cards. 5) Julie's Crafty Corner - Great cards and chat and a cat lover like me! 6) Just Crafty - I just love popping over to her blog, great inspiration and fun.
Enjoy the award, I was chuffed to recieve it from Amy. xxx
My photo looks slightly wonky, soz. I have completed the Sketch Saturday Challenge which was your choice of any of the sketches from 2008. I have decided to use Challenge # 29, a great sketch which uses lots of scallops. I have used one of my new super-duper stamps from Sugar Nellie, some Papermania papers and a turquiose scallop card. I coloured in using distressed inkpads and have covered with glossy accents and loads of lovely buttons.
Forgot to say a big thankyou to all of my lovely blogging friends who sent me Chrismtas pressies, you all know who you are! I was chuffed to receive them all, thanks so much for adding to my ever-growing craft stash. Thanks for stopping by and for any comments left, hugs Heidi xxxx
Another Christmas has come and gone and I always get itchy feet at this time of year. Not sure whether this is due to just year end or change in general. I always want to decorate or make big changes to everything in sight. I am so looking forward to Spring, all of those lovely flowers popping up and the birds singing and hopefully the sun shining.
On that note, I have volunteed David to do some decorating around the house. First of all is Amy's room. We will have to decorate around her, as she is revising for her final 'A' Levels for exams starting in January. Next will be our room, just need a lick of paint but we will be putting some lovely laminate flooring down as our carpet has seen better days.
Back to Xmas, I was thoroughly spoilt, lots of lovely crafting goodies, my friends and family know me too well! I received Hero Arts, Sugar Nellie and Penny Black stamps, a wonderful Russian Doll stencil set and too many cd's and dvd's to mention. My fav pressie of all was a Wii Fit, my lovely daughter Amy gave me a Christmas Eve pressie, haven't had time to play with it, but have wanted one for ages so am excited to get started. Have braved the sales in Brighton, the girls had lots of vouchers and Xmas money that were burning holes in their purses, so a few bargains were got.
Have just finished 32 thank-you cards for Jessie and Georgia. I was in charge of cutting and sticking whilst they stamped, my fingers hurt but am itching to play with my new stamps and will post some challenges later today. Again, I can't wait to use bolder brighter colours and papers, experiment with some new promarkers that were brought for me. Hope your all enjoying the break and I am so looking forward to seeing all of your new creations, pop back later if you can as I will post some cards, hugs Heidi xxxx
Have just finished the pressie drop and am now officially ready for tommorrow. I just wanted to wish everyone in blogland a wonderful Christmas and a happy heathly new year. I have made some wonderful friends and feel truely blessed to know all of you. Your comments and generousity have been overwhelming and as my year started off quite badly due to ill health, it is going to finish all the better for knowing all of you. Keep well and enjoy the season. Looking forward to corresponding with you all next year, love and hugs Heidi xxxx
Have at last finished the cards, yippee! Here they are as promised. I have just kept them quite simple, Amy loves penguins, Jessie the mouse and fairies are Georgia's favourites. Am gonna start next year's in January, one of my new year's resolutions is to get organised, after all I am a Virgo and that is our thing! Anyway, I will agree to anything after a glass of wine or three! Have at last changed my photo, my hair has grown so long and has changed colour about four times since that last one. Also have loaded a wonderful piccy of my lovely girls that was taken this evening. The five of us all went out for a lovely Christmas meal, and I am glad that I managed to get at least one normal picture of them, without Georgia pulling a funny face, Amy and Jess in pout mode or David wearing the table flower, beer glass in hand! Well, am off to have a large coffee, the head is beginning to hurt, as the waiter decided to give me a pint glass of wine, he obviously thought I looked harrassed/worn-out or both or he expected a large tip! Anyway, hope you like the cards/photos. Will be back tommorrow (head permitting lol!) to complete a challenge or two, night night, sleep tight xxx
Have just finished this entry for this weeks challenge over at Stamp Something Challenge Blog . I am going to send this to my hubby for Christmas, as the image is soooo cute. I have used Basic Grey 'Wassail' papers this time, along with some srummy brown tulle, brown jelli dots, a 'togetherness' plaque and a beautiful heart charm. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils and have added some glitter and a sentiment from 'Lili of the Valley'. Thanks for stopping by, am off to wrap some pressies xxxx
Here is my entry for this weeks great challenge over at Secret Crafter. The challenge had to include paper piecing, so I have paper pieced the Elf's dress and hat. I just had to use my new Tilda, Alva the Elf and big Daisy which I brought from Crafts U Love. I have used Imaginisce paper, 'Fairest of Them All, Enchanted Garden', some jelli dots, pink flowers. Have coloured in using some great chalk pencils using a waterbrush and finished off with a little silver bell. Hope you like it, enjoy your weekend xxxxx
No challenges today sorry, will be completing one or two tommorrow, if I can find the time. Am still trying to get organised for Thursday, how do people do it, they must be super-human! I still have all of the pressies to wrap and not much time to wrap them in as the girls are now home for the holidays..... Well the schools broke up today, bit of a sad day for us. A wonderful teacher called Mr H left today to take up a post at a secondary school (brave man!). He was a super teacher to Jess and great joke teller, will miss his sick jokes and cheerful smile every day..... Took Georgia to the local panto tonight, oh no you didn't, oh yes I did (sorry, had to get that one in). It was Aladdin with 3D flying carpets, snakes and boulders, great stuff! We had to ofcourse, buy the yearly light-up twirly thing, which cost a fortune, god I am beginning to sound like scrooge, hope I get some Christmas spirit soon, if not the liquid sort, ha ha. Well have a good weekend ladies, hoping your preparations are going better than mine, please pop back tommorrow as I will be uploading some more cards and maybe a challenge or two xxxxx
Wow, the lovely Linda over on her blog at Linanna Designs has gone bonkers and is giving away some super blog candy. Pop over to her blog to include yourself and check out all of her lovely creations xxx
Hi ladies, hope all of your Christmas preparations are going well? I woke up thinking bah humbug today, what a bad mood I was in! Thank goodness it went soon after as I had to make a mountain of sarnies for Georgia's class for their Xmas party. I have finished pressie buying and have some small shops to complete and then I am done, just the wrapping to do. Have attempted to do some this morning, but have had a puss called Molly walking all over the paper, and purring so much that I haven't been able to concentrate, so haven't achieved too much today! I have made lots of cards for family and friends and here are a few to show you. Kept them quite simple and used up lots oddments, so am very pleased with the results, hope you like them? Also a big welcome to Blogland for my dear cousin Maree in Perth, Australia. She has just started blogging and I can't wait to see what beautiful creations she comes up with, welcome Maree, hurry up with those challenges hun xxxxx
Here is my entry for the challenge and a few pages of the little paper-bag album, we made at Scrapclub this week. So sorry for not blogging for what seems ages, but is in fact a week, have been up to my eyes with Christmas bits, card making, present buying and attending the yearly school shows. Georgia was in two school performances this week. With her dance class, She danced her socks off to 'Rocking Robin' and her class played 'Jingle Bells' on their recorders, she was a little star. I also took Scrapclub at Crafts U Love, we made small paper-bag books with a Christmas theme. We ate mince pies and drank wine and it was a really fun super evening, thanks to all the ladies that attended, looking forward to our January get together.
Have completed my favourite challenge, a super duper sketch by my dear friend Susie Sunshine. It was sooooo nice to make a birthday card, am all Christmas carded out now. Christmas is getting closer and I still haven't finished my cards, at least I do have an excuse this year, have another twenty to go, one a day till the big red dude comes. Have a good weekend, thanks for looking xxxxx
Here is my entry for Kim's challenge over at Simply Fairies . I now have a chest infection, what a lovely month I have had with germs and stuff! I have been stuck in bed for two days but have been well looked after by my lovely hubby, who cut short is overseas trip to come back and look after me. I decided enough was enough today and being the stubbon old cowbag that I am, I have done this quick card for the challenge. I have used a lovely Rachelle Anne Miller stamp, Angelique 'Wings' paper from Prima Marketing, some 'Swiss Dot' card, some turquoise tulle and a sweet sentiment from 'Lili of the Valley'. Hope you have had a good weekend, thanks for stopping by xxxx
My girls are much better so decided to get busy with a card or two. Here is my entry for this week's challenge, over at Cute Card Thursday Challenge . Have used a QK dots border and some 'Hero Art's' felt snowflakes and Doodlebug jewels. Finished off with a small sentiment from 'Lili of the Valley', thanks for looking xxx
Firstly, big thanks to Debbie for the award, very kind of you to think of me. Have still to add this and the other two to my blog. Haven't been able to blog for a while, sorry ladies! Have been nursing two of my daughters. My eldest Amy, has a chest infection and is very poorly and is stuck in bed and secondly my youngest, Georgia was off of school with a sickness bug yesterday. I sent her back today, and was called to pick her up earlier as she had been sick at school. What a month, first of all Jess with the cough thing, then me and now the other two. Luckily, David is bug-free but is now away on a mega trip abroad leaving me with sick kids and a dodgy washing machine. Deep joy! Nevermind, Christmas is coming and I am getting into the spirit of things by wrapping pressies and making my cards. Must do some challenges as am getting itchy fingers, hope all of you are well, speak soon xxxx

I can't seem to shift this rotton flu-like virus, the doctor won't give out any medication, so am overdosing on Lempsips and Covornia Cough Syrup (have you tried this stuff, disgusting or what, works though!), so haven't felt up to any challenges over the last few days. Have popped over to all of my fav blogs to look-see at all of your lovely creations and feel inspired to try and do a challenge later today, after my scrapbooking class at CUL. Whilst blog-hopping, the lovely Debbie at Passion for Crafts has some wonderful blogcandy, she makes the most amazing cards so do pop over and take a look. It was fantastic, I am a big lover of the theatre anyway, but they sang/danced and interacted with the audience big time. They were last minute tickets and we had just the best seats. Have kept the tickets and streamers and will be doing a HSM layout for Georgia to remember such a great evening. Glad to have Amy back from her college trip to France and 'The Somme'.
