My Top Five Cards of 2012

Happy New Year's Eve!

Another year has passed us by, and to be honest, a pretty grotty one for my family so I will be very glad to see the back of 2012.  So out with the old and in with the new!

I still have the dreaded lurgy but am not going to let it spoil the day, we will be up to see the New Year in with a bottle of something fizzy.

The wonderful Debby  has asked us bloggers to share our favorite top five cards of 2012,  So here goes :-

Firstly, an easel card using 'Owl Family' from Little Claire - I love these colours together!

A circle stepper using 'Bert & Mary' and some great embellishments.

A wiper card using my LC all time fav stamp - 'Ever So Lovely', the papers are some that I have used a lot in the past year.

A quick & plain card using Penny Black image on this stand card, love this big fat puss!

The last is using 'Butterfly Kisses' again from LC, yes there is a theme here lol. I have used a Craftwork Card stencil to make the butterfly shape.

Ok, there are my five, I did have about ten on my list. I have really loved making them all.

All that is left now is to wish you all a wonderfully happy & healthy new year. Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog and for all of the wonderful comments that each of you have left me over the past twelve months. I really appreciate them all and so look forward to blogging with you again in 2013.

Take care and enjoy the festivities!

Buttons & Bows

Good afternoon, I do hope you had a good Christmas? Our's was lovely, catching up with my brother's but unfortunately David and I have both had a nasty cough and cold, but it didn't spoil the festivities and of course, we were all spoilt rotten with lovely gifts.

Here is a little stepper card I made recently, using the gorgeous 'Button's & Bow's' stamp set from Little Claire .  I have teamed it up with some lace, bakers twine and some Tim Holtz dies that a friend brought me.  The paper is from Craft Creations and the doily is one from Do Crafts.

I have been really good and have not done the sales, well only one purchase of some crafty goodies online which I got lots of lovely new dies for a steal!

Right, will be back in the morning with a sneeky peak of the January club stamp from Little Claire, ooo its a cracker!

Have a great day!

hugs

A Birthday Card

Hi there, well my Christmas shopping is now all done.  David and I went to Tesco's early, I found everything I needed and although we had to queue for an hour to put our shopping through the till, we were home by eleven.  Am so glad that I have now got everything and haven't got to venture to the shops again.

I wanted to share this card with you, it's my blogging friend's birthday this week. I have used a gorgeous little 'Sarah Kay' image which I brought at one of the shows I demoed at earlier this year. The dies are from Memory Box, paper Craft Creations. Sentiment from Stamping Up, ribbon from Hobbycraft.  I have coloured her in with Promarkers.

Right, still have some cards to make for the family and then for some housework.  Hope to be back tommorrow with another card and also a sneaky peek of the January Little Claire Club stamp, which is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Have a lovely Sunday,

Heidi

Poinsettia Card

Good evening, hope you have done all of your Christmas shopping and are ready for Santa to arrive next week?  I am typing this watching the wonderful Text Santa programme, which is always very humbling.  All of the family have been busy donating.

I wanted to share my Poinsettia card that my monthly class made recently.  I have made several versions of this using other flower dies, but here is my Christmas version.

I have used a lovely versatile Poinsettia die which also looks great in other colours.  My card was used from oddments from my box including, kraft card, red & green SU card, gingham ribbon, a SU heart and tag stamp.

Have had a grotty week, have been layed up with a nasty virus and it was great to be able to go out today and get some Christmas shopping done.  I also spent a wonderfaul afternoon with Georgia, lunch and lots of girly shopping.

Am hoping to share a couple of other cards before Tuesday, so thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Little Claire Monthly Challenge # 28 - 'Happy New Year'

Good morning, it's challenge time again over at Little Claire .  This month this theme is 'Happy New Year'.  I have made a calender card similiar to one we made in my class last week, so if me ladies see this, yes it does look familiar lol!

I have had a really busy week, lots of lunches, coffees with friends and then my crafty group and I went out for a Christmas meal on Thursday, it was a lot of fun and yes, I must admit to having a slight hangover yesterday.  I got up and made the girls lunches and then went back to bed, something I never do lol!  Anyway, to my calender card ....

I have used the gorgeous 'Flowerhead' stamp which I have decoupaged.  No papers today, just some Chocolate and Cream cardstock, cream lace, MS butterflies & SU stamped butterflies.  A SU sentiment and some brown pearls.  Quite an easy card but the colours are really effective.

If you want to join in our challenge, there is a great prize up for grabs.  A £15 voucher to spend on the website.  The DT cards are simply gorgeous, so pop on over via the link above to get inspired.

Have family coming over today and then out for dinner this evening.  Am hoping to fit some DT work in as well, so like my week, today is a going to be a busy one!

Hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Matchbox

Good afternoon, hope you are keeping warm in this freezing weather?  My toes haven't been felt for days and I am thinking of knitting my little piggies some socks lol.

I am sharing a Christmas matchbox that I have made for one of my ladies from my Craft classes.  We are all off out for a Christmas dinner this evening and have anonomously all altered one for a name drawn out of a hat.  I won't share who mine is for as this particular friend, may view my blog today before she gets it lol.  Watch out if your at the same restaurant as us, its going to get noisy lol!!

I have kept it quite plain, have covered with some My Mind's Eye papers, the trees are a Marianne Die, the snowflake a 'Spellbinder's' one.  The sentiment is from Stamping up and the ribbon from Hobbycraft.  Have added lots of 'Stickles' and a small blingy stone.  I have managed to get one large stamp, one pack of stones, a small bag of card candy, wooden embellies, pearls and charms and three lots of ribbon, it is stuffed to the brim, as you can see lol!

Have family arriving today for the weekend, so had better get on with the housework.

Have a great afternoon,

Christmas Ted & Robin

Good afternoon, hoping your well, warm and enjoying the sunshine like I have just been.  Have been out in the garden cleaning out my little pigs and rabbits.  The birds are chirping away enjoying all of the peanuts and fat-balls I have hanging from our Budlea tree, it really has put me in a good mood. Not many Christmas pressies to buy, just a few friends and the remainder of the food and I am done, early just for a change lol!

I am sharing this little card with you today.  It is one of the November makes from my class that my lovely crafty ladies made. We used a gorgeous LOTV ted and robin image and coloured in with Promarkers.  Have matt & layered the Craft Creation's 'Holly' paper onto some SU Cherry Cobbler and kraft cardstock, added some Chrimbo ribbon, a SU long sentiment and some red stones from MeiFlower.

Am happy to be up to my eyes in DT work as have just received some absolutely gorgeous stamps to play with, oooo am so lucky, I really love my job :)  Lots of new images coming out early in 2013, so watch this space.

Darling Daschund's!

Hello, Happy Saturday to you! It's December today so that means a brand new club stamp over at Little Claire's .  I am so lucky to be able to play with all of their gorgeous new images.  Here is the new set called 'Darling Daschund's' - ooooo I just love them, they are soooo cute!

Being half German, it's in my DNA to own one of these little dogs, and one day David will let me have one lol as long as he has a labrador!  Well that's the plan, when the girls leave home, that will be in a few years yet lol.

You can buy this great little stamp set for the price of £8.99.  You get the stamp set, products to make up a card and also some extra card examples to inspire you!

On my first card, I have stamped the long image on all four sides, coloured in with Promarkers and matt and layered the sentiment.  Flower and butterfly are punches.

On my second card, I have used some twill tape which I have stamped the long image onto.  Papers are from a great paper pack which is available to buy from the website, it's called 'Blank Canvas', I have used it lots recently, and there are still loads of pages yet to be used.

I have been really busy getting my Christmas cards made and buying the pressies.  Am nearly done as of today, just a few little bits and pieces and then some food.

Off to do some more DT work and to spend some time with David and the girls.

Have a lovely weekend!

hugs

Thank crunchy it's Friday! It's been a very long week, so am glad it's Friday and the weekend! David has been away in Dubai, the girls have been in and out all week and I am still feeling poorly since my bug last week.  Am hoping to get some Christmas shopping done and catch up with the housework and Christmas cards.

I have forgotten to share this little 'Gorguss' Girl card with you, which we made at one of my classes recently.  I am going to add some numbers and give it to my daughter's lovely friend who will be 16 next week.  The little image looks so much like her.

On my card I have used, Craft Creation gingham paper, Rose Embossing Folder, Tim Holtz Clock die, SU punch and sentiment and a flower made with a scallop punch and lots of water spray.

Have a fabby weekend, thanks for stopping by and the lovely comments you leave me.

The Magic of Christmas

Good evening, it's challenge time again over at the Little Claire Blog , the theme this month is of course, 'Christmas' and the DT have made some spectactular cards this month!

Here is my offering above, it is made using the gorgeous 'Magic of Christmas' stamp set, which comes with three large images and lots of sentiments.  I especially love the little geese with dotty wellies on, they are so sweet!

I have used some gorgeous Teresa Collins paper on my card, the ribbon is some that was free with a magazine.  The charm is one from Mei Flower and the twine is from Stamping Up.  I have coloured in with Promarkers and added a couple of stones.

Here is the fabby prize that you could win if you enter our Christmas challenge

Little Claire die-cut sheets
Ribbon
Coloured stones
Ribbon Bows

Have just seen that it is already dark here at 4.20pm, so had better go get my little guinea's and rabbits to bed before they catch cold.

Lots on the box this evening, just for a change.  Are you loving 'I'm a Celebrity'? We all are here.  I hope that awful Helen leaves the jungle soon, before things turn nasty and they oust her.  I really hate bullying of any form, but she really is asking for someone in there to tell her her fortune lol! That's the end of my rant lol!

Christmas Polar Hugs

Good morning, brrrrr its another cold one here today, Georgia cannot wait for snow, whereas I definately can lol.  I love to look at it but just want to snuggle up by the radiator when its on the ground.

I thought I would share a Christmas card I made using the gorgeous 'Polar Hugs' from the Christmas stamp range over at Little Claire.  It is similiar to some of the 'Swirly Whirly' designs.

I really love mono colours especially at christmas.  I have added lots of ribbon & lace and three different papers on my stand card.  I have just coloured the little present and holly on the image, finished off with small pearls.

Right, have a class this week so must finish off the projects that we will be making.  Will share them with you later in the week.

Have a great day, whatever you will be doing, thanks for stopping by.

Little Claire Flowerhead Blog Project

Good afternoon, it's my turn to do the blog project over at Little Claire's and I have chosen one of my all time fav stamps to use.  It is called 'Flowerhead' and it can be used as I have shown, paper pieced or stamped and coloured in.  It is a very pretty, versatile little stamp.

My little flowerpot card has been made using lots of scraps from my paper/card bins.  The paper is from a stack available from the website and is called 'Blank Canvas'.  OMG it is so lush, some of the papers are fabric and the colour ranges are just beautiful!

The kraft card is from Craftwork cards and the lace is from Stamping Up.  The punches are from Martha Stewart and nearly forgot the sentiment, is from a little set called 'Dictionary Definitions'.  I have added some brown pearls to the flowers, butterflies and hearts.

If you would like to see the tutorial that I have put together, pop on over to the blog via here .

Have had a manic week and am hoping for a quiet weekend.  Lots of Christmas cards to get done and maybe some shopping.

Have a lovely weekend yourself,

Flowerhead Cards

Good evening, here are a couple of cards that I have made using the gorgeous 'Flowerhead' stamp from Little Claire.  I have used paper-piecing on both cards.

I have used some freebie papers on my first card, some English lace and a 'Dictionary Definition' sentiment stamp.

On my flowerpot card, I have used some papers from a paperpack, some kraft card to make the flowerpot, some 'handmade' ribbon, brown/cream bakers twine and a MS butterfly punch and border punch.

The sentiment inside is from stamping Up as well as the stamped heart.  I will be doing a tutorial on how to make one of these little flowerpot cards on Friday, just whizz on over to the Little Claire blog for more details.

Enjoy the NEC show if you are going, im not but will be ordering lots of crafty goodies on-line to make up for it lol.

Christmas Joy

Good Saturday afternoon! Wow those weeks sure do whizz by, November already and I am yet to get organised for Christmas.  I have got myself a little part-time job, which I start next week so I am thinking my Christmas cards and shopping will definately get done last minute this year.  I tend to buy a couple of packs of Christmas cards anyway, mainly for charity.  I always give to The British Heart Foundation and Cancer in memory of my lovely Mum and Dad.

Anyway, Little Claire asked me to design a quick card which could be turned into a take-home pack to make.  This kit is using the gorgeous 'Christmas Joy' stamp and I have teamed it up with some wonderful 'nordic' colours of red gingham paper, red & kraft cardstock.  The ribbon ties in really well and the sentiment is one from another stamp set called 'The Magic of Christmas' and the rosette surrounding it is from 'Georgina's Rosette's' glorious set available on website.

So what do you get in the pack? You get: 'Christmas Joy' ready stamped image (just colour in), the paper and card (red gingham, red bazzill and kraft card) for matting & layering - all pre-cut to size, circular sentiment, rosette, gingham circle - all cut to size, snowflakes, pearls and super, lovely snowflake & heart ribbon mmmmm.....and of course, the blank greetings card & envelope, in this instance it's a blank kraft card.

Not forgetting full colour instructions - so it's everything you need apart from adhesives and, the cost? Just £3.80. or £5.50 for the stamp on it's own.

Ok gardening and housework awaits, its such a lovely sunny day here today, shame to miss some of it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Heidi

Little Claire November Club Stamp

Good afternoon, just a quick post from me today.  Here is a card I have made using the newly launched 'Lets Bake' club stamp from Little Claire.  Isn't it gorgeous? I so love the little cat sitting on the stool.  You can purchase it from today from the website.  On my card I have used one of the 'Sunshine' sentiments and a button from 'Georgina's Button & Stitching' stamp sets.  The blue gingham paper is from Craft Creations.

I have coloured in with Promarkers and have added some gorgeous lace which can be also purchased from the Little Claire website.

Off to make tea and then to my craft room, have some cards to make.

Have a lovely evening!

Girly Changing Tree - New Stamp Launch

Good morning, the sun is shining here today which always puts me in a good mood.  Also my girlies are home for half-term so we are going to have a very busy week and have lots planned.

Little Claire are launching a brand new stamp set today.  The 'Girly' elements can be used with the Changing Tree set of stamps or on their own, like I have shown below on my second card.  If you already have the 'Changing Tree' set, you can buy these to go with it for only £3.99.

I have made a secret message card above in really girly papers and of course pink.  The ribbon can also be purchased from Little Claire also with the paper pack I used which is called 'Blank Canvas'. I really love these little elements, I have loads of friends birthdays coming up so will be using these alot to customise each card.

Have gone a bit vintage on my second card, but as you can see, the little elements are great to make an 'inchy' card.  The sentiment is from a great set from Stamping Up.

Ok off to spend time with Jess & Georgia and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.

Have a great day and welcome to my new followers, thanks so much for joining my blog.

Christmas Owl Tree

Good morning, Saturday again, wow the week's do go quickly.  My girls are now on half term, so am looking forward to spending some quality time with them next week.  Have lots planned, catching up with friends, shopping and the cinema, they all want to see the new Madagascar film but David & I want to see the new Bond movie, so we will have to toss a coin lol!

The weather here is freezing, I think we have a Syberian wind blowing around us in Sussex today but at least the sun is shining and we don't have the white fluffy stuff that a lot of peeps have been having.  I love snow but around Christmas please lol!

Ok, am thinking that I may have already shared my little card before, but hey ho here it is again, if I have. It is made using the fabulously, gorgeous Little Claire  'Christmas Owl Tree' which I love lots! Most of my christmas cards will be made using this me thinks :)  I have used various dies, 'Cherry Lynn' - Pine Needle and 'Dynamics' -Border, a wooden snowflake and some brown pearls.  The sentiment is one from the 'Magic of Christmas' set (also LC) which I find myself using all of the time.

Have lots of sort in my bedroom today, its become a bit of a dumping ground since my eldest came back home.  She is living with us again until after Christmas when she is getting herself a little flat.  So am off up there armed with a large coffee and some bin liners.  Am going to be ruthless with my pots and potions (as David calls them), sometimes you just have to have a sort out, don't you lol?

Am entering this card into my lovely friend Sarn's blog candy competition. She wants to see a Christmas make of any kind. There is a gorgegous little Penny Black stamp up for grabs!

Ok crafty peeps, have a wonderful Saturday - keep warm!

Georgina's Rosette Stamps

Good morning, hoping that you are well and not full of cold like my Georgia is.  Day three today and she is still feeling awful, lots of coughing and she now has a nasty temperature.  So we are snuggled up having another Downton Abbey marathon viewing session lol.

Here are a couple of quick little cards I made recently using the lovely new stamp set 'Georgina's Rosettes' from Little Claire .  They are a very versatile set of stamps that comes with six different designs of rosettes that you can mix and match with eight great sentiments.

On my cards, I have used the great paper packs 'Noir et Chic' and 'Blank Canvas', both available from the website as well.  My little bird is a SU punch, some black pearls from Mei Flower and the doily is from Hobby House.

Here is a photo of one of our new piggies that we have adopted.  Henry is a very loving, affectionate little pig and as you can see here, he is helping David with his work and has just taken a call, he is also known to play a bit of 'Angry Birds' lol!

Also I believe it is 'Black Cat' day today, so wanted to share a cute little photo of my CoCo, our house cat.  She likes to snuggle on my craft room chair, it makes it hard for me to use my desk.  She also likes to pull out all of my ribbons from my drawer, isn't she helpful lol!

Ok, back to the poorly Georgia and more episodes of Downton.

Have a lovely day, keep warm!

Good afternoon, ooooo its freeeezzzzing her today! Have had to put the heating on, owl socks & slippers on too, am warming up nicely!

I have forgotten to share these cards I made recently using the fabulous new Winter/Christmas themed 'Letters Snow' alphabet from Little Claire .

It is just right for all of your special Christmas cards.  I have made these cards using some wonderful dies that you can purchase over at the shop via the link above.  They are :

Spellbinders 'Holiday Tag's
Cherry Lynn 'Snowflake' # 7
Die-Namics 'Open Scallop Edge' Die
I have also used the stitching stamp from 'Georgina's Buttons & Stitches' set of stamps.

I have been making some of my special Christmas cards for family over the weekend, and have found these so useful to personalise my cards.

Have scheduled this post as am off to the hospital for an appointment, then doing my Mum's taxi bit with the girls today.

Little Claire Monthly Challenge # 26 'New Arrival'

Good afternoon, yes it is definately feeling like Autumn outside, have resorted to buying some socks today as my toes have been frozen for a over a week now.  Am not a great lover of anything on my feet, so it must be cold out there.

Anyway, my card above is my DT one for Little Claire.  It's challenge time again with a new one starting today, with the theme of ' New Arrivals'.

I have used a really sweet little stamp set called 'Babies are a nice way to start people'. Also with lots of pink card & check paper, MS heart punch, Memory Box swirl & button dies, Magnolia flowers and lots of bakers twine.  Have used the great little sentiment which also comes in the pack along with some cream pearls.

There is a great prize of Trimcraft goodies to win, just enter our challenge for a chance.

Talking of new arrivals, here is the latest edition to our family.  An unwanted little piggie who we decided to give a home to and have called 'Tufty'. He is only thirteen weeks old and has already fitted in quite nicely being a friend to our little old man Henry.  He is just the cutest little piggy and has already started taken food from me and really loves to be cuddled.

Ok off to sort out some housework.  Have a great Saturday!

My Making Cards Pages

Good afternoon, am just a tad excited and wanted to share my wonderful news.  Two of my cards  have been featured in 'Making Cards' - November edition.  I was casually browsing through the magazine before I brought it, as you do, and couldn't believe my eyes!  I made them a while ago and had forgotten about them.

I made them using the fabulous 'Christmas Joy' stamp from Little Claire .  It has to be my favourite new stamp this season.

Right, off to finish my DT card for tommorrow, a new challenge is starting on the Little Claire blog, with a great theme.  Will be back in the morning with my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Owl Family & Baby Changing Tree Cards

Happy Friday to you! Am full of flu today so am camped out on the sofa catching up with lots of tv I have recorded. There is so much of this flu about locally, my hubs David has been so kind giving his 'man flu' to me, bless him!

Here are a couple of cards I have made using the wonderful newly launched stamps from Little Claire .  The first is using 'Owl Family' and being owl bonkers myself, was so lovely to play with.

I have used some gorgeous new papers from a paperpack (available on website) called 'Blank Canvas', lots of lovely papers to play with, in allsorts of vibrant colours.

My second card is using the new 'Baby' elements that go with the 'Changing Tree' set of stamps.  If you already have the original set, you can just buy the baby elements for £3.99, or purchase the tree and baby elements together.  Have covered a cardblank with lilac gingham, added some bunting from the 'Bunting' stamp set and a baby sentiment.

Right, have a date with my Sky+ recorder, a lemsip and snuggly owl slippers.  Have a lovely day and weekend, lets hope the sunshine stays for it.

hugs
